Urban Design Advisory Panel

The Urban Design Advisory Panel is required to advise the Northern Territory Government on specific matters and projects relating to the achievement of the better urban design outcomes anticipated for the Central Darwin area, the Darwin and Palmerston Region and all other significant urban centres in the Northern Territory.

The panel will be retained by the Minister for Lands and Planning in an advisory capacity and will be primarily required to provide professional advice on specific urban design issues and significant urban concepts and projects.

The panel will:

  • act as a non-statutory advisory body to Government through the Minister for Lands and Planning;
  • consist of local professionals recognised by their professional bodies and interstate professionals recognised as leaders in their field:
  • provide input to and/or report on key urban design issues; and
  • benchmark the expected improvement in urban design and monitor performance.
